Description

Chairman’s Breakfast

Unleashing Manhattan’s Four SMB Economies

Manhattan doesn’t have one small business economy — it has four, and they’re moving in different directions: solo entrepreneurs, storefront micro businesses, Main Street’s employers, and the mid-sized anchors every rival state wants to steal. Each is being squeezed differently, and each needs something different from government.

This quarter’s Chairman’s Breakfast is not a report launch — it’s the room where the report gets finished. Before the Chamber releases its new study, Four Economies, One Borough: The State of Manhattan’s Small and Mid-Sized Businesses, we’re bringing the findings and the draft policy agenda to the leaders whose companies anchor Manhattan’s economy — and whose decisions shape whether these four economies grow or shrink. What the data show may surprise you.

Over breakfast, we’ll walk through what we found, then put the draft recommendations on the table before they head to City Hall and Albany. You know how these proposals will land at the highest levels of government and the market. For each one, we want your answer to three questions:

  1. Will this move the needle?
  2. What would it take to actually get done?
  3. Where can your organization help carry it?

Expect robust discussion. You’ll hear the findings before anyone else, and the final report will carry your fingerprints. Come ready to mark up our homework.

Please note: This invitation is nontransferable, as the event is exclusively for Chamber Board members, members of the Chairman’s Circle, and their guests.

Kindly refrain from forwarding this invitation to others without prior consent from the Chamber.
